In the latest edition of North American Whitetail there is artcicle detailing the latest wrt Rompola's "World Record Whitetail". It seems that Milo Hanson who shot/owns the current world record B&C whitetail has a business partner, from Stutgart AR named John Butler. Butler and Hanson have put together a travelling display of the Hanson buck, and have been showing it for a fee around the country at various outdoor shows.
The Rompola buck story has been hurting business and Mr. Butler got tired of that, since Rompola will not allow his buck to be scored. Butler says: "Several show producers told us that they didn't want book our display because of their belief that Rompola's buck was going to outscore it....After a while it got to be ridiculous. Milo's official world record record buck was being financially damaged by a deer that was being promoted as a world record by Rompola's associates but couldn't be inspected. I finally got tired of dealing with it and told Mitch's representative that they either quit claiming that their deer was a world record or I'd take Mitch to court and make him prove the thing was real. They decided to agree not to enter the deer or claim it as a world record."
This agreement was signed on 11/16/99, and by it, Rompola agrees to not display the deer or enter it into B&C consideration as long as the Milo Hanson typical from Saskatchewan is the recognized world record.
